In partnership with the YMCA, the Restore Project is a practical project based on restoring furniture. We collect furniture suited to restoration from the community, before stripping down the finish to the bare materials and making repairs as necessary. We then use a chalk paint and distressing technique, to antique the furniture.
The shabby chic style has proven popular with current fashionable styles, particularly with the trend to have signature pieces of furniture within a modern home. We offer a short six week course in our workshop to learn how to choose pieces suitable for restoration and the processes necessary to create high quality products.
